About The Position

Operating equipment within established limitation. Will include operating pumps, valves, and other technical equipment including computer software. Remain current on all company required training via on-the-job training, EHS InSight portal, and other required training methods. Conducting in-plant testing on production samples to verify product is within established specification. Take corrective actions if products are found out of specification. Meet sanitation requirements for assigned area. Maintain lubrication requirements for assigned equipment. Have a working knowledge of the MSDS program. Use logbooks for recording of operational changes and recording of operational problems to communicate between shifts and conveying information between operators and managers. Handle hazardous chemicals such as alcohol, caustic, acids, etc. Climb and work in high places and/or from ladders, roof, etc. Attend required quarterly safety meetings. Participation as needed in regulatory audits, BRC, SEMS, Safety up, etc. Subjected to temperature extremes due to plant processes. Conduct lock out tag out procedures on assigned equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
  • Able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Operators are required to maintain manual and automated records and must be able to communicate over a radio.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment both physically & within operating systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required, fall protection, etc.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. to shoulder height occasionally.
  • Physical mobility: extensive walking, climbing, stairs, kneeling, stooping, sitting throughout entire shift.
  • Standing occasionally for long periods, up to 6 hours.
  • Physical dexterity: Use of phone, fax, computer, and mechanical tools that require precision (cutting, wrenches, etc.)
  • Occasional Driving
  • Sensory requirements: hearing, listening, smelling, touching, speaking, tasting, seeing, distinguishing colors throughout the entire shift.
  • Stationary working at a computer terminal or keyboard up to 6 hours per day.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to endure exposure to high heat and cold throughout entire shift.
