About The Position

The Cook - Senior Living is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and appealing meals for residents in a senior living community. This role requires a skilled individual who can cook a variety of dishes, including those tailored to special diets, while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and food safety. The ideal candidate is adept at following menus, baking, and ensuring food is stored correctly. Schedule: Full-Time, 10:30AM - 6:30PM Open availability on the weekends and holidays preferred. Compensation: $19.61 - 23 / hour, depending on experience To be successful in the role, you would have: Must have previous Cook experience with skills in special diets (diabetic, puree, etc. Prior culinary, food service, or restaurant experience San Bernardino Food Handler’s certification Responsibilities: Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines. Prepare meals for residents with special dietary needs, including those with allergies or other restrictions. Bake a variety of desserts and baked goods. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict sanitation protocols. Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper food storage and handling procedures. Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Ensure all meals are presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperatures. Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus and ensure resident satisfaction. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor. Minimum Qualifications: Working knowledge of food preparation techniques. General knowledge of sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen environment. Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations. Ability to follow recipes and menus accurately. Experience in cooking for large groups. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a similar role is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a senior living or healthcare setting. Certification in food safety and sanitation. Familiarity with special diets, including diabetic, low-sodium, and gluten-free. Experience with menu planning. Previous experience as a Cook REQUIRED What's in it for you?
