About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training or one to two years of equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Culinary degree preferred.
• One (1) year of experience in quantity cooking is preferred.
• Servsafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read menus and spreadsheets, consult with Dining Services Supervisor as necessary regarding the preparation of food and use of leftovers.
• Follow daily requisitions for necessary foodstuffs.
• Plan preparation of foodstuff in advance to ensure all food is prepared when needed and in quantities specified to serve eye-appealing, tasty food items. (Food is thawed, fresh, and proper amounts available).
• Portion food and arrange prepared foods in an attractive and appetizing manner.
• Prepares hot entrees, soups, and vegetables according to standardized recipes and special diets. Following preparation sheets and recipes.
• Prepares in advance as indicated by checking the next day's menus, production sheets, and supplies.
