About The Position

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to: Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to restaurant and hotel guests. Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members. Wash, cut and prepare food for serving and/or cooking. Prepare various dishes and sauces following recipes and leaders directions. Cook food as ordered, working on several different orders simultaneously. Inventory food items and report on supplies to be ordered. Maintain stock levels in the kitchen and storerooms throughout the property. Control inventory for loss, waste and spoilage. Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils, keeping kitchen, walk-ins, reach-ins, and any accompanying areas spotless to company standards and to all health codes. Clean and Wash dishes including serviceware, cookware, utensils, plates, pots, pans, etc. Adhere to all food safety and company safety requirements. Take and document temperatures of food, hot holding vessels and cold holding vessels. Monitor cleanliness of back loading dock and dumpster area. Remove trash from the kitchen and dispose in dumpster area. Setup and refill buffet stations for events and banquets. Assists in running food to tables when needed. Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel. Follow all instructions and duties assigned or directed to complete by supervisors/management. Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management. Deliver DKN’s "Home Away From Home" experience Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests, management and fellow team members to their understanding.
  • Ability to provide legible written communications.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments.
  • Dependable.
  • Standing for long periods of time, frequently walking.
  • Repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying and twisting.
  • Reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
  • Lifting unassisted up to 30 lbs. of bulk goods.
  • Exposure to cleaning agents.
  • Must be aware of the importance of safety and security.
  • Endeavor to be conscious of safety and security at all times.
