Compass Group is seeking a solid high volume cook to help serve JPH (Rural Louisiana Hospital of the Year) by preparing meals for patients, visitors, and staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares and cooks a variety of food according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions or numbers of portions to be served and ensures consistent quality of food. Assist and follows orders of Dietitian. Delivers, serves, or sells (cashier) designated foods to patients, visitors, and staff. Follows the food production sheets, menus, and diet orders assuring appropriate and correct quality food products are given. Cleans and inspects equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation. Covers, labels, and dates all food items as needed. Greets patients, staff, and visitors in a courteous and respectful manner; responds with positive interpersonal skills and handles requests with a positive attitude. Attends department meetings and educational in-services to maintain professional competency. Obtains appropriate hospital-specific education and training when necessary or required. Responds to all emergency situations within the facility and follows appropriate hospital procedure. Adheres to all Jackson Parish Hospital policies, procedures, safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations. Regular attendance and timeliness is required. Adheres to department and hospital dress code policy and procedure. Performs all/any additional duties as assigned by the department manager/supervisor. Harmony with existing team is imperative.
