About The Position

Prepares quality meals in accordance with established menus, recipes and food standards and maintains resident satisfaction. Supervises the daily operations of the kitchen including meal preparation, purchasing, cost control, sanitation, safety, and staff training. Monitors the quality of food prepared and served to residents, visitors and staff. Uses approved menus, recipes, and food service procedures in the preparation of food. Assures all menu changes are appropriate and reviewed by the Food Service Supervisor. Assures food is prepared for timely service to the residents. Keeps food preparation and serving areas clean at all times. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment in safe operating condition. Assures the kitchen meets the requirements in accordance with local, city, and state regulations. Prepares and assures timely delivery of tray service to residents. Assures therapeutic diets are properly prepared and served as needed. Reports any incidents to the Food Service Director. Attends and participates in committees, training programs and staff meetings. Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have previous experience as a cook in an institutional setting.
  • Must have criminal record clearance.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
