We’re seeking a dedicated Cook to join our dietary team and help us provide wholesome, home-style meals for our patients and staff. The Cook implements menus and coordinates food preparation and serves meals. Responsibilities include ordering, inventory and preparing food items for the clients, staff and visitors of the facility, guaranteeing appealing, nutritious, and high-quality meals and snack are served. Preparation and serving activities are performed in accordance with the menus planned, food service policies, sanitary guidelines and food sensitivity/allergy requirements. Cleaning of the kitchen and services areas and equipment utilizes proper infection control procedures. Roles and Responsibilities: What You’ll Do As a valued member of our kitchen team, you’ll prepare and serve meals that support the recovery process and bring comfort to those we serve. Key responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years in food service or institutional cooking (healthcare, school, or cafeteria setting preferred).
  • Knowledge of safe food handling, nutrition, and special dietary needs.
  • SERV Safe or similar food safety certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities

  • Preparing daily meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
  • Cooking entrees, casseroles, soups, vegetables, salads, and desserts — ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Maintaining food safety standards through temperature checks, proper labeling, stock rotation, and storage.
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Planning cooking schedules so meals are hot, fresh, and served on time.
  • Assisting and guiding dietary team members to ensure smooth meal service.
  • Completing meal counts, temperature logs, and inventory checks daily.
  • Inspecting and storing deliveries safely and efficiently.
