This position involves preparing, assembling baked goods, cooking, seasoning, and portioning food for patients/residents, staff, and visitors of the designated facility. The role requires preparing and serving food within the guidelines of the menu and dietary requirements, adhering to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation. The cook will also be responsible for performing washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas, maintaining labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery, and preparing and providing the highest quality and safest food possible. The role demands above-average communication and excellent teamwork skills, as well as the ability to cook, function, and thrive in a dynamic and changing culinary environment. It also involves following standardized recipes and Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines to prepare, store, and use food and food products, documenting HACCP steps, temperatures, and outcomes, and operating various kitchen equipment.
