About The Position

The purpose of this position is to prepare, cook, and serve food in a sanitary manner according to posted menus, using standardized recipes and procedures. The role ensures food is served at proper temperatures and scheduled times, and is responsible for serving diets according to physician’s orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Food handler’s certification card
• Must enjoy working with residents and have good interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work with and relate to residents with dementia
• Must be able to work independently, efficiently and effectively
• Must be able to follow written procedures and communications
• Must present self in a professional manner and appearance at all times
• Must be dependable, honest and trustworthy
• Must have positive attitude with concept of culture change

Nice To Haves

• Health care dietary experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve food in a sanitary manner according to posted menu using furnished standardized recipes and procedures
• Assure food is served at proper temperatures and at scheduled times
• Serve diets according to physician’s diet orders
• Supervise staff in the absence of Dietary Manager
