Requirements

  • 1-2 years of previous cooking experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of health and sanitation standards
  • Proper cooking techniques and knife skills
  • Food Knowledge
  • Lift up to 25 - 30 lbs
  • Stand for long periods
  • Navigate crowded spaces
  • Adaptability to casino conditions, including: Bright lights Noise
  • Able to obtain/maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications as required by local gaming regulations.
  • Able to obtain/maintain Food Handlers Serv Safe certifications as required by the Lake County Health Department regulations.

  • Bi-lingual is a plus

Responsibilities

  • As a cook for the team member dining room, you are responsible for executing daily prep and service with precision and consistency in a deli-focused environment, under the guidance of the Executive Chef and the Sous Chefs.
  • Expertise in deli-related cooking, including slicing meats, preparing sandwiches, and crafting deli salads, is essential.
  • A solid understanding of food safety practices and proper handling of ingredients is crucial to ensure the highest quality service.
  • Responsibilities include participating in line checks, maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas, and ensuring prep meets the Chef’s standards for offerings.
  • Cooks are also expected to follow all health and safety regulations, support daily sanitation efforts, and assist in educating front-of-house staff on daily specials.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction are key to success in this role.
