About The Position

The Cook PRN plays a vital role in preparing and delivering high-quality meals on an as-needed basis, ensuring that all food served meets established standards of taste, presentation, and safety. This position requires flexibility and adaptability to work varying shifts and respond promptly to staffing needs, supporting kitchen operations without a fixed schedule. The Cook PRN collaborates closely with kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working as a cook or in a similar food preparation role.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to manage workload and ensure timely meal service.
  • Adapt to varying schedules and provide coverage during peak times or staff shortages.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management as necessary.
