About The Position

Health Solutions West is the Western slope’s largest behavioral health care organization, covering more than 23,000 square miles across 10 counties. With over 250 employees in Western Colorado, you would be joining a mighty team of support and administrative staff, case managers, clinicians, physicians, nurses, and others in our efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of our community. The Cook II will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods, to include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or four (4) years of related work experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of food preparation.
  • Applies some advanced cooking skills.
  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Familiarity of kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.
  • Intermediate to advanced knife skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
  • Must already be authorized to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and cash-handling procedures.
