About The Position

The Cook I is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. This role supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring timely food preparation, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and assisting with overall kitchen organization. The Cook I works collaboratively with the culinary team to deliver high-quality dishes in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Assist with daily food preparation and ingredient setup to ensure efficient kitchen service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Monitor food quality and report any product or equipment issues to kitchen leadership.
  • Support inventory control by properly storing food and notifying management of low stock levels.
  • Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service.
  • Assist with preparation for special events, banquets, and catered functions as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and training as directed by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
