The Position: We are recruiting for a full-time CASA Advocacy Coordinator . The CASA Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training, and supervision of CASA volunteers. The purpose of this position is to support the goal that every child experiencing abuse and/or neglect shall be appointed a CASA. The Advocacy Coordinator reports to the Lead Advocacy Coordinator, and will assist in coordinating training, public education, and volunteer reporting requirements. The Advocacy Coordinator provides day-to-day support to CASA volunteers. High School Diploma, some college preferred. Job Purpose The Advocacy Coordinator provides daily guidance and support to CASA volunteers, ensuring children receive strong advocacy and timely permanency planning within the Waycross Judicial Circuit.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • One year of experience in nonprofit, social services, or child advocacy preferred.
  • Knowledge of child welfare and legal systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse professionals and volunteers.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
  • Clear criminal background check, Child Abuse Registry, and CPS history.

Responsibilities

  • Volunteer Management
  • Assign volunteers to new cases under the direction of the Lead Advocacy Coordinator.
  • Prepare and distribute court orders appointing or removing volunteers.
  • Maintain regular communication with volunteers, offering consultation and assistance.
  • Review volunteer reports and support volunteers with report writing.
  • Attend court hearings, Citizen Panel Reviews, and MDT meetings with volunteers.
  • Assist with annual volunteer performance evaluations.
  • Case Management
  • Review case referrals and assign appropriate volunteers.
  • Provide case-specific advocacy guidance and research support.
  • Ensure volunteers receive current case information.
  • Maintain accurate case plans, volunteer reports, and documentation.
  • Court & DFCS Liaison
  • Track hearing dates and panel reviews.
  • Notify volunteers of upcoming hearings.
  • Distribute CASA reports and supporting documents.
  • Prepare court orders for judicial signature and file originals with the Clerk.
  • Testify in court as needed.
  • Record Keeping & Statistics
  • Prepare volunteer activity statistics for reporting.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer assignment files.
  • Maintain detailed case files for each child served.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Meet regularly with the Lead Advocacy Coordinator.
  • Attend workshops, trainings, and conferences.
  • Assist with event planning, volunteer screening, and training.
  • Support agency fundraising efforts.
  • Participate in annual program evaluations.
