About The Position

Devereux Florida provides programs and services for children and adolescents who face significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual/developmental challenges. Located in Titusville, FL , this position is dual/hybrid role that will be responsible for cooking meals and provided direct support to our individuals in our care. Responsibilities include: Cook Responsibilities (70%) + Prepare and serve meals according to established menus + Monitor food usage + Store dietary supplies properly + Report safety issues to the Program Coordinator + Participate in monthly Environment of Care inspections to ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards. Direct Care Responsibilities (30%) + Personal Care : Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. + Behavioral Support : Implement behavior management plans and support individuals in developing coping strategies. + Skill Development : Facilitate skill-building activities, including social skills, communication, and life skills training. + Crisis Intervention : Recognize signs of distress and de-escalate situations effectively and safely. + Documentation : Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and daily activities. + Transportation : Assist clients with transportation to appointments, community activities, or school. + Collaboration : Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, and family members. + Training and Education : Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in behavioral health support. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Additional training in food preparation preferred.
  • At least one year food preparation experience in an institutional setting preferred. Previous experience with the National Lunch Program is preferred.
  • Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, walk, run, stoop, kneel, push/pulland reach above shoulders.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, and TB Test.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to complete atwo-week(Monday - Friday) new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day. Orientations are offered in Titusville, FL.
