GENERAL SUMMARY : Is responsible for the storage, preparation of nutritious meals to child care programs using knowledge of agency, ESE, and Public Health code standards; promotes all aspects of quality food service; supervises cook assistant. Essential Functions : Responsible for the safe storage, preparation and service of nutritious meals and snacks at the day care center, according to Nurtury (and other funding sources) guidelines. Prepare and maintain written records pertaining to the food service operation according to Nurtury (and other funding sources) guidelines. Supervise the Cook Assistant, which includes coordination of work schedules, tasks, and training him/her to order and prepare food. Maintain established standards for sanitation, safety and food preparation according to Nurtury (and other funding sources) guidelines and Commonwealth of Massachusetts Article X sanitary codes. Participate in nutrition education activities for children, parents and staff, as appropriate. Attend meeting and participate in monthly in-service training sessions.
