Cook - Banquet and Bar Cook Part-Time Duties & Responsibilities: Part-time position that would float between banquet line cook and Bar/Restaurant cook depending on need. Assist Banquet cook in food preparation for events up to 100 persons. Prepare a limited Bar menu dishes utilizing Merry Chef cooking process. No deep frying or flat-top cooking involved. Set up food for serving, serves food according to prescribed manner, cleans utensils and equipment before, during and after serving. Performs food preparation or final processing of simple salads, desserts, vegetables, etc., by cutting up items of food, dishing out portions, wrapping, labeling and rotating food. Sets up condiment areas, salad, dessert and hot food counters; maintains adequate supply; and keeps area clean. Stores condiments and leftovers in a sanitary manner. Checks need for replacement of deleted or shortage of items and notifies proper personnel. Maintains proper housekeeping, sanitation and safety standards in work area, including washing of table service implements, serving and preparation utensils, and food transporters. Be willing to cross train as Breakfast and Social cook to cover vacations. Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen. Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. Be at work consistently and on time; Arrive at meetings on time
