Compensation is based on experience and qualifications provided on the application. The overall purpose of this job is to assist in the basic food preparation and service of meals:

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to operate and maintain production equipment
• Basic knife skills, and the ability to grill, sauté, roast, broil, and fry food
• Knowledge of proper/safe time and temperature for food handling
• Ability to operate small kitchen equipment, including Robo-coup, mandolin, mixers, emersion blenders, potato peeler, etc.
• Must have good customer service skills
• Ability to work well independently as well as within a team
• Serve-Safe Certified, or the ability to become certified
• Must have non-slip shoes to be worn daily
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Required to occasionally push and pull equipment on wheels that weighs up to 150 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of culinary experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve and maintain food quantities for large numbers of people
• Assist with general cleaning chores in the dining area and kitchen
• Set up, break down and maintain independent serveries
• Provide assistance with catered functions
• Provide guidance to student employees
• Be well groomed and wear the proper issued uniform
• Assist with stocking as requested
• Participate in training, as well as other departmental function requirements
• Other duties as requested
