About The Position

This Converting Supervisor position is a direct supervisor to one assigned shift of hourly employees within the corrugated board production. The role encompasses significant leadership responsibilities, including providing direction and oversight in areas such as safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement to ensure that established goals are consistently met. Key duties involve supervising employees in their daily production tasks, which includes training, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, and actively promoting a culture of safety, quality production, and teamwork, as well as resolving workplace conflicts. The supervisor is expected to lead and motivate the team by demonstrating superior behavior, attitude, and performance, thereby fostering an efficient, effective, and safe work environment that consistently delivers a quality product. Effective communication, both oral and written, is crucial, requiring interaction with crew members, other supervisors, plant management, office personnel, and external customers and vendors. Furthermore, the supervisor is responsible for actively promoting and ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and other organizational programs and initiatives.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervisor to one assigned shift of hourly employees.
  • Responsible for supervision, direction and leadership in safety, quality, productivity and engagement to ensure goals are met.
  • Supervise employees in the daily production of corrugated board, to include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety, quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
  • Lead and motivate employees by setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance to work efficiently and effectively, while ensuring a safe work environment, and a quality product.
  • Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: crew members, other supervisors, plant management, office personnel and outside customers and vendors.
  • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and other programs and initiatives utilized within the organization.
