About The Position

TOPPAN Packaging Americas specializes in designing and manufacturing sustainable, high-performance flexible and thermoformed packaging solutions for the food, beverage, medical and consumer goods industries. We offer products like transparent high barrier films, pouches, clamshells and trays, utilizing advanced technology to enhance product safety, visibility and environmental sustainability. TOPPAN Packaging Americas operates as part of the global TOPPAN group, with 22 manufacturing facilities across North America, Latin America and Europe. We are seeking an experienced Converting Leader to oversee day-to-day operations in our Slitting, Bag, and Pouch departments. This leadership role is responsible for guiding associates, ensuring production quality, coordinating workflow, and supporting a safe and efficient work environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–3 years of progressively responsible technical and supervisory experience required.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and the ability to delegate work efficiently.
  • Knowledge of press and lamination processes, equipment, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret work specifications and production schedules.
  • Solid understanding of personnel policies and recordkeeping practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or equivalent apprenticeship (up to 5 years) in printing trades preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, organize, and coordinate daily activities for Slitting, Bag, and Pouch operations.
  • Maintain a consistent presence on the production floor to support employees and monitor performance.
  • Review upcoming jobs and plan efficient shift operations.
  • Provide training, technical support, coaching, and cross-training opportunities for associates.
  • Coordinate coverage for PTO and overtime needs, including stepping in to assist when necessary.
  • Complete performance reviews and ensure proper documentation for disciplinary actions when applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies including quality, safety, housekeeping, and food safety standards.
  • Verify quality at startup, throughout runs, and upon completion of production.
  • Communicate quality issues promptly to operators.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs.
  • Review daily production reports and ensure accurate material accountability.
  • Maintain inventory of department supplies.
  • Assist with plant inventory activities.
  • Complete required operational and administrative reporting.
  • Perform end-of-shift procedures, such as securing the building and locking facility gates.
