About The Position

The Conventional Machinist will be expected to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in the setup, operation and care of conventional lathes. Requirements

1+ years’ experience is preferred
Knowledge of shop mathematics complicated and involved drawings, specifications, formulas and a wide variety of precision measuring instruments together with a broad knowledge of applications.

Responsibilities

Verify your own work using Vernier’s, Micrometers and Gages
Multi-task, take initiative, and communicate clearly with your team and management
Experience working with hard metals is required, composite experience is a plus
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a requirement, in the aerospace industry is a plus
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.
Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers
