Job Summary EMCOR Services Northeast has an immediate need for a Controls Project Engineer in our Stoughton, MA office. The Controls Project Engineer will be responsible to provide engineering services both internally and externally to EMCOR. This position will work closely with customers, sales engineers, project engineers, field service labor, service managers, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science / Engineering, or 10 years in HVAC required.
  • 5-10 years DDC controls experience preferred.
  • DDC controls programming experience required (JCI CCT preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the takeoff and estimating of HVAC control systems on new and retrofit jobs.
  • Assist in the development of HVAC control system design.
  • Prepare BAS control submittals for delivery to owners and contractors.
  • Write sequences of operation and include in control submittals.
  • Develop control logic for control systems using JCI CCT.
  • Maintain control submittal updates in field during installs.
  • Provide final updates to submittals and prepare BAS closeout documents.
  • Maintain control job library and database on network drive.
  • Develop request for quotation documentation for installing subcontractors.
  • Qualify, hire, and manage subcontractors.
  • Develop job scheduling/phasing and maintain updated schedule.
  • Order project materials and manage deliveries to jobsites.
  • Prepare purchase orders and authorize payments to material suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Visit jobsites on a regular interval and attend job meetings.
  • Provide support to field personnel and service technicians during install / startup.
  • Manage project modifications and contract change orders.
  • Monitor / manage automation job financial status using COINS.
  • Assist in the preparation of progress billings.
  • Provide startup and commissioning assistance using CCT programming tool as required.
  • Provide owner training on completed jobs.
  • Provide project closeout documentation.
  • Manage customer conflict resolution.
  • Assist in contract collections.
  • Learn and implement EMCOR safety program rules and policies.
  • Attend controls training classes for controls field product IE: Johnson Controls, Tridium.
  • Continuously educate yourself on existing and new computer / software technology including: Windows / MS Office programs IE: Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc.
  • EMCOR .NET learning opportunities and yearly business required courses.
  • Local EMCOR network utilization and IT initiatives.
  • Develop thorough understanding of EMCOR Northeast office personnel and respective responsibilities and workflow processes.
