About The Position

We are looking for a Controls Engineer to play a critical role in our manufacturing operations at multiple manufacturing plants. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for new installations, upgrades and for our current production processes. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless operation of our manufacturing equipment and improving overall efficiency. Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Ignition experience preferred.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC programming.
  • Strong knowledge of HMI development, Ignition experience preferred
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, motor controls, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Understanding of network fundamentals.
  • Database experience not required but preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in PLC programming or industrial automation.

Responsibilities

  • Control System Design: Design, develop, and implement control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes, utilizing Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC and other platforms.
  • Programming: Write, debug, and modify PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) code for control systems to optimize production efficiency and quality.
  • HMI Development: Create Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications for monitoring and controlling machinery.
  • Data Integration – Set up data collection and historians
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical and automation-related issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
  • Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems with other manufacturing equipment and systems, ensuring seamless production flow.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of control system designs, modifications, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all control systems meet safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation improvements, and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
