About The Position

The Controls Engineer serves as a safety champion, promoting a strong safety and ergonomic culture across Butler Manufacturing Operations. This role supports daily operations, leads control‑system projects, and ensures equipment reliability and safety. Provide technical leadership to maintenance and operations teams.Actively participate in the VBS (Values Based Safety) ProgramTroubleshoot equipment and control system issues.Improve equipment reliability and safety through control modifications.Apply OSHA safety requirements and review new equipment controls.Lead process improvement and cost‑saving initiatives.Develop control specifications and support new equipment installation/startup.Standardize control hardware/software and maintain required networks/tools.Program and maintain Allen‑Bradley PLCs and integrate production I/O and drive systems.Create electrical drawings for projects and equipment changes.

Requirements

  • BSEE or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of controls engineering experience.
  • Manufacturing experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with equipment builders/integrators, Rockwell Automation software, and Fanuc Robotics.
