Check out our website to discover the Tenneco Way Job Title: Controls Engineer We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for automated machinery and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, control theory, and programming, and will be responsible for ensuring systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in control systems design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB, and other engineering software tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and other relevant electrical codes.
  • Certification such as EIT, PMP, or PLC programming credentials.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems and algorithms to meet project specifications.
  • Program and configure PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and other control interfaces.
  • Conduct system integration, testing, and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of control systems in real-time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, mechanical engineers, and maintenance staff.
  • Create detailed documentation including specifications, schematics, and user manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Stay current with technological advancements in automation and control systems.
  • Provide training and technical support to users and maintenance personnel.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for control systems and processes.
