We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems and integrating various manufacturing technologies. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth of Industry 4.0 initiatives within a new department.

  • Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems using platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
  • Develop modular, scalable code for control systems.
  • Implement data bridges between shop floor equipment, MES, and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Plex.
  • Standardize data structures and communication protocols like OPC UA, MQTT, and REST APIs.
  • Program and commission industrial robots, including Fanuc, ABB, and Motoman.
  • Integrate robotics with safety, vision, and control systems.
  • Deploy IoT devices for asset monitoring and predictive maintenance.
  • Implement edge computing solutions and collaborate with IT/OT for secure industrial networks.
  • Champion digital twins, virtual commissioning, machine learning, and data lake initiatives.
  • Implement smart sensors and intelligent devices while ensuring compliance with industrial cybersecurity standards.
  • Provide technical support for SigmaNEST and SimTrans software, including troubleshooting and user training.
  • Write specification sheets, RFQs, and technical documentation.
  • Develop control standards and glossary documentation.
  • Manage controls projects from design to validation and collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in controls/systems engineering and automation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming with platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, and Beckhoff.
  • Experience in MES/ERP integration and industrial protocols like Ethernet/IP and OPC-UA.
  • Robotics programming and machine installation and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with IIoT platforms, cybersecurity, and edge computing.
  • Familiarity with digital twins, SCADA systems, and cloud integration with AWS or Azure IoT.
  • Ability to program from scratch.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% a year.
