About The Position

The Automation & Controls Engineering team reports to the Engineering Manager and plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence. By integrating advanced control systems, the group ensures that production lines run safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This team is essential to the company’s ability to scale, innovate, and remain competitive in a fast-paced industrial environment. How You Will Do It Deliver robust control system designs that meet production requirements and safety standards. Successfully implement PLC programming and Allen Bradley system integration with minimal downtime. Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Proactively troubleshoot and optimize existing systems to improve efficiency. Support commissioning and start-up of new equipment with zero safety incidents. Provide effective training and technical support to plant personnel, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems. What we do here: Tampa, Florida, is home to a fully integrated plant that manufactures batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. As a fully integrated plant, we also decorate or label our batteries into the final product for our customers. We opened in 1958 and employ more than 280 people. We operate six days per week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting .
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment .
  • Strong project management skills with ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating new technologies into legacy systems.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools for process improvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical diagrams and schematics.
