About The Position

You're a seasoned controls engineer or software engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in Beckhoff TwinCAT and multi-axis motion control. You've built systems that move — precisely, repeatedly, and reliably — and you know the Beckhoff ecosystem from the IPC hardware through EtherCAT I/O to TwinSAFE. You're ready to step into a senior technical role and lead complex control system development on world-class packaging machinery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields, or commensurate experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing control software using Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, or 4+ years combined TwinCAT 2 and TwinCAT 3 experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing multi-axis coordinated motion control systems — servo tuning, cam profiles, electronic gearing, or synchronized motion.
  • Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming, particularly Structured Text (ST); Ladder Diagram experience also valuable.
  • Experience integrating and commissioning servo drives, servo motors, and VFDs in an industrial automation environment.
  • Working knowledge of Beckhoff hardware — Industrial PCs, EtherCAT I/O modules, HMI platforms, and TwinSAFE.
  • Experience with HMI development within the Beckhoff/TwinCAT environment.
  • Ability to commission and debug control systems both in-house and at customer sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with robotic control systems — delta/parallel robots, pick-and-place, multi-cell robot integration in packaging or automated process systems.
  • Experience programming in Microsoft Visual Studio (C++, C#) for real-time or embedded applications.
  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, or custom HMI/web-based interface development.
  • Knowledge of industrial operating systems — Win10 IoT, WEC7, Linux, Ubuntu in embedded/IPC contexts.
  • Experience with vision systems such as Cognex.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and risk assessment — UL508A, CE, NFPA79, NFPA70E, SISTEMA.
  • Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, CIP, or other industrial network protocols.
  • Exposure to Rockwell Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, programming, and implementation of PLC/HMI software solutions.
  • Oversee and review electrical schematics, bills of material, and engineering change notices.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Coordinate project execution, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
