About The Position

If you are an Engineering professional early in your career and excited to learn, grow, and make an impact, Emerson has an opportunity for you with our Power and Water Solutions team in Cranberry Township, PA (Greater Pittsburgh area). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about automation, controls, or adjacent engineering disciplines and wants hands on experience working on real world projects that support critical infrastructure across North America. You will join the Power Retrofit Projects group, which delivers fully engineered control system solutions for power plants using Emerson’s best in class Ovation™ Distributed Control System (DCS). The team supports the full project lifecycle—including engineering design, system integration, testing, and commissioning—providing a strong foundation for building technical depth, industry knowledge, and long term career growth. From day one, you will work alongside experienced engineers and project leaders who are invested in your development and success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical equivalent
  • 2+ years of related experience in an engineering environment
  • Ability to travel up to 20% within North America
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future. This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1 (including those with OPT or CPT), H-1, H-2, L-1, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering
  • Experience designing or programming controls for Distributed Controls Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platforms
  • Exposure to automation, industrial controls, or adjacent engineering fields
  • Familiarity with boiler control, burner management systems, or NFPA85 guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a collaborative, inclusive team focused on solving complex engineering challenges
  • Contribute to application design and engineering execution on active projects with guidance and mentorship

  • Participate in cross functional and global teams supporting process improvement initiatives
  • Build and develop technical capabilities through hands on project work and exposure to multiple engineering disciplines
  • Support the application design and execution for thermal and conventional power projects
  • Help ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project execution cycle
  • Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth
  • Collaborate with customers, internal teams, and architect/engineering firms to help identify practical technical solutions
