About The Position

This position is responsible for performing calibrations on instruments, maintaining controls within the facility. The Instrumentation and Controls Technician troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains industrial and commercial automation systems, including PLC IO, HMIs, and plant instrumentation. The incumbent applies technical knowledge in electrical, instrumentation, and control system technologies to resolve issues, support production equipment reliability, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role works under the direction of the Senior Automation and Controls Supervisor or Lead to support plant-wide automation initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of electrical and instrumentation experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility
  • Associate degree in Controls, Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and instrumentation certifications
  • Hands-on knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, specifically Allen Bradley (RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, Studio5000)
  • Familiarity with HMI systems, preferably Rockwell FactoryTalk View ME/SE and Ignition
  • Broad understanding of automation networks, control devices, and instrumentation equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, process flow diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams
  • Experience with calibration standards, procedures, and recordkeeping
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, calibration software, and Windows operating systems
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and execute work under direction

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC IO, HMI, and instrumentation systems to ensure high equipment reliability and uptime
  • Calibrate, configure, and repair plant instrumentation and control devices (pressure, flow, level, temperature, etc.)
  • Assist in developing and maintaining automation-related documentation, electrical drawings, P&IDs, pin charts, and sequences of operation
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and automation-related system issues in collaboration with other technical personnel
  • Follow all electrical codes, safety procedures, and company standards during work activities
  • Support project implementation, system upgrades, and equipment commissioning activities under supervision
  • Assist with preventive maintenance programs for control and instrumentation systems
  • Follow Chobani’s safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Coordinate with vendors or contractors as directed for system installations or support activities
  • Support plant engineering and operations teams with validation, troubleshooting, and system improvement initiatives

  • Compensation Range: $29.50 - $42.00, plus bonus.
