About The Position

The Controller at BioProcure, LLC is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the organization. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring robust financial management, compliance with GAAP, and the preparation of accurate financial statements. The Controller will manage relationships with lenders and private equity sponsors, optimize financial systems, and lead the accounting team to support the company's ambitious growth strategy in the biotech sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Active CPA license is required.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in corporate finance or corporate accounting, with a proven track record in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with accounting policies, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Prior experience managing the comprehensive accounting function, ideally within a private equity-backed and/or high-growth company.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and optimizing financial systems and developing advanced reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Proven ability to handle complex financial data and create meaningful analyses to support business decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach.
  • High attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees (MBA or Master's in Finance) and/or relevant professional certifications such as CFA, CMA, or similar are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the general accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and financial reporting, including the preparation of fluctuation analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax filings, and external audits, acting as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external audit teams.
  • Manage company cash flow, including forecasting liquidity needs and optimizing working capital.
  • Oversee capital expenditures, investments, and financing activities to ensure optimal use of resources.
  • Work with lenders and stakeholders to ensure covenant compliance and effective capital structure management.
  • Prepare periodic reports and presentations for the private equity firm, detailing financial performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with due diligence for potential add-on acquisitions and capital raising.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee risk management and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to legal and financial regulations and debt covenants.
  • Contribute to strategic and annual planning processes and establish best practices in accounting operations.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
