About the position

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting function and build a scalable foundation to support our rapid growth as a B2B SaaS, consumption-based business. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will be a strategic partner and collaborate cross-functionally to enable company-wide business initiatives. The ideal candidate will deliver operational excellence and ensure a strong financial and control posture to enable the company to scale efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting operations, including AR/AP, payroll, revenue and technical accounting, compliance, treasury, and tax.
  • Deliver accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Ensure audit readiness, tax compliance, and adherence to all regulations through robust internal controls.
  • Implement ASC 606-compliant processes for SaaS contracts.
  • Implement systems to improve efficiency, shorten close cycles, and support growth with scalable, automated processes.
  • Develop real-time cash flow forecasting and optimize treasury management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on key initiatives such as billing, sales tax, sales compensation, and revenue operations to drive growth.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience at public accounting firms and leadership roles in high growth B2B SaaS and/or consumption-based companies.
  • CPA and/or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in GAAP, ASC 606, and SaaS revenue recognition.
  • Experience building internal controls and leading external audit processes.
  • Experience scaling and improving processes, systems, and teams during periods of rapid growth.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Is a player coach who can mentor and build a strong team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to initiatives such sales tax, billing, sales compensation, and treasury.
  • Familiarity with equity management platforms such as Carta.
  • Previous experience in a later stage venture-backed environment.

  • The starting salary for this role is between $210,000 and $255,000 USD.
