About The Position

The Controller position is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and project/job costing. The role requires preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP. The Controller will develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy. Additionally, the position supports the CEO and leadership team with clear financial reporting, dashboards, and key performance metrics. The Controller will manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors, implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations, and lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to build a strong, accountable team. The role also involves assisting with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership responsibility
  • Industry experience in oilfield services required
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Experience with multi-entity, multi-state accounting and payroll operations a plus
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (experience with NetSuite or similar is highly valued)
