About The Position

The Controller supervises the entire finance department as well as overseeing all day-to-day finance and accounting activity including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, purchasing and contracts, general ledger maintenance, cash management, audit management, budgeting, financial reporting, billing and claims, government funding/reporting, financial controls, financial records, and month end and year-end closing. This position supervises the Accounting Managers and oversees other accounting employees. Duties Include: Works with the CFO in maintaining Agency's financial accounting of funds in accordance with Federal, State and funding contracts. Generates financial reports for leadership, analyze financial data, reconciles, and presents findings. Proactively prepare, respond and successfully complete all fiscal financial audits. Oversees the Accounting operations including - budgeting and expense management, revenue forecasting, cash management, investment management, financial policies and controls, bank relationships, contracts, purchasing, collaborate with HR on operational processes, employee management and development. Oversees government grants and claims operations – grant reporting, grant budgeting and expense management, claims and billing management, financial software management. Accounting point person for EMR system and accounting software upgrades and transitions. Maintains current knowledge of the latest accounting tools, concepts, GAAP standards, and trends. Requirements

  • 4 year degree minimum in Finance/Accounting, Masters degree preferred.
  • Must have 5 years of minimum experience in Accounting, Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Operations Management, CPA or CMA, Including change management.
  • Knowledge and experience with program development, implementation, quality management, processes and ongoing program oversight.
  • The ability to compile, audit, analyze, and present financial program findings/trends from various reports.
  • Must be self-directed, results driven, analytical, detail oriented, solid understanding of financials/budgeting including the ability to optimize outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication, training and management skills required.
  • Able to interact with all levels of employees, external stakeholders, public officials, and top level executives is necessary.
  • Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Experience in working with Sage Intacct accounting software and databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience working in a medical based environment and/or Non-Profit.
  • CMA or CPA certification is preferred.
