UHS is currently recruiting for our Controller who will split time between both hospitals in our Northern Nevada Market. Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center recently opened in April 2022. It is the first full-service hospital to be built in the region in nearly a century. Sierra Medical Center provides a large range of services including cardiology, oncology, neurology, orthopedics, Family Birth Center and level II NICU. Northern Nevada Medical Center's tradition of providing quality health care in a comfortable, accessible environment means peace of mind for the thousands of patients served by the hospital each year. Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 108-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres at 2375 E. Prater Way in Sparks, Nevada. The hospital provides physicians and patients with many of the latest technological innovations for diagnosis and treatment of even the most acute clinical conditions. Northern Nevada Medical Center is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and licensed by the state of Nevada. The Controller job responsibilities will include: The Facility Controller supports the hospital market CFO by ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financial information for assigned facilities. The role is structured towards development and matriculation into a future Executive Financial leadership role, so the position offers the opportunity to learn and train in the various aspects of revenue cycle, expense management through review, accruals and standardization, business development through pro forma development and lookbacks as well as operational budgeting.

Requirements

Five years plus progressive experience in a financial capacity at a health care facility.
Experience working with Medical Records (HIM), Business Office, Materials Management and Accounting departments preferred.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Computer hardware/software skills required.
Bachelors degree.

Responsibilities

Assists CFOs in annual operational budget preparation for market entities.
Prepares and conducts departmental Monthly Operating Reviews.
Conducts monthly financial statement and operational reviews, to ensure the accuracy and integrity, for market entities. The process is undertaken to ensure completeness and standardization is achieved.
Revenue Cycle - Net Revenue to include Statistics, CDM Development, Revenue Daily Reconciliations, Various Payer Reimbursement, Contractuals/Discounts, DNFB/Unbilled and Cash Collection
Business Development participation includes the preparation of pro formas, as well as the completion of lookbacks to determine if the investment has produced the results expected.
Manages various special projects as assigned by Market CFO, changes in financial reporting requirements, acquisitions, dispositions and various other requests.
