About The Position

ProTeam Tactical Performance is an innovative outpatient rehabilitation organization exclusively serving public safety professionals—including firefighters, law enforcement officers, and EMS. Our mission is to keep those who serve functioning at peak performance by delivering elite-level physical rehabilitation and human performance care. We partner with municipalities and first responder departments throughout the US to provide integrated, injury management and return-to-duty programs. The Controller serves as the financial steward of ProTeam Tactical Performance, leading all accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions across multiple locations. This role is responsible for maintaining financial health, optimizing revenue workflows, and ensuring fiscal integrity across operations that include workers’ compensation, commercial insurance, and cash-based healthcare delivery. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing financial operations within outpatient physical therapy or allied healthcare environments , possesses a strong understanding of payer reimbursement models , and thrives in a collaborative and mission-driven culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in outpatient physical therapy or allied healthcare financial management.
  • Proven track record with workers’ compensation, commercial insurance, and cash-based revenue workflows .
  • Strong command of healthcare revenue cycle management software and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, WebPT, etc.).
  • Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively with both clinicians and executives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, including preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and departmental performance reports.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable/receivable processes and ensure timely posting of revenue from all payers (commercial, workers’ compensation, and private/cash-pay).
  • Manage multi-location general ledger, budget forecasts, and variance analysis to guide decision-making at the executive level.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and state regulatory requirements for healthcare entities.
  • Collaborate with billing teams and external vendors to optimize reimbursement velocity and claim accuracy.
  • Monitor payer mix, revenue trends, and collection metrics to identify opportunities for margin improvement.
  • Support contract negotiations and reimbursement modeling for insurer and municipal partnerships.
  • Manage KPI dashboards for net collection rates, AR aging, and payer performance.
  • Advise the COO and ownership team on financial trends, cash flow management, and investment considerations.
  • Partner with operations and clinical leaders to align finance processes with scalable growth strategies.
  • Support new program development through pro forma modeling, ROI analysis, and cost-per-episode benchmarking.
  • Coordinate annual audits and maintain internal control frameworks that ensure data integrity and fiduciary accountability.
  • Oversee payroll, tax filings, and compliance with state/federal employment and healthcare finance regulations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate systems for efficiency improvements.
