About The Position

🌟 We're Hiring: Controller 🌟 Location: Wayne, PA | Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Are you a hands-on financial leader who thrives on building strong processes while delivering strategic insight? At Education Management Solutions (EMS), we’re looking for a Controller who brings both technical accounting expertise and forward-thinking financial analysis to the table. In this role, you’ll lead our accounting operations, oversee financial reporting and audit processes, and partner closely with leadership to drive informed, data-driven decisions. You’ll manage a team, while helping ensure operational excellence while strengthening the company’s financial foundation as we continue to grow. What You’ll Do Lead Accounting & Reporting Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and all regulatory requirements. Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies. Lead preparation of financial reports for executive leadership and external stakeholders. Drive Financial Planning & Analysis Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes. Monitor financial performance and deliver meaningful variance analysis and insights. Support pricing decisions, contract negotiations, and product investment modeling. Partner with department leaders to improve cost management and operational efficiency. Oversee Audit & Compliance Serve as primary liaison for external audits and coordinate audit readiness. Manage relationships with auditors and external advisors. Ensure compliance with debt covenants and financial reporting obligations. Lead & Develop the Team Provide leadership and mentorship to the Cost Accountant, Revenue Accountant, and Procurement Director. Strengthen procurement controls and align purchasing activities with financial goals. Build scalable processes to support company growth. What We’re Looking For 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of accounting teams. Strong background in financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and internal controls. Demonstrated FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Experience leading external audits and working with auditors. CPA strongly preferred Public accounting experience is a plus. Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Collaborative leadership style with strong communication and organizational skills. Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of accounting teams.
