Role Overview: The Controller leads the company’s end‑to‑end accounting operations and ensures the integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of all financial reporting. This role owns the entire month‑end close process, manages billing, collections, and accounts payable, and serves as the primary point of contact for bank reporting, audits, and tax preparation. The Controller will work closely with the Head of Finance and FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while building scalable processes and strong financial controls to support the business. Responsibilities

  • Month‑End Close & Financial Reporting Own and manage the full month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close, including timelines, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely production of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Continuously improve close efficiency, accuracy, and documentation.
  • Billing, Collections & Accounts Payable Lead and oversee billing, accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable functions.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to billing accuracy, DSO, cash collections, and AP cycle time.
  • Enforce credit, collections, and payment policies to optimize cash flow and working capital.
  • Ensure proper approval workflows, vendor management, and payment controls.
  • Banking, Audit & External Reporting Prepare and deliver all bank reporting, lender packages, and covenant reporting as required.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, managing audit timelines, requests, and deliverables.
  • Maintain schedules and support for audits, reviews, and other third‑party financial examinations.
  • Partner with Head of Finance on financial disclosures and external reporting needs.
  • Tax Compliance & Preparation Own and manage all tax preparation and filings, including federal, state, local, income, payroll, sales & use, and other applicable taxes.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and ensure timely, accurate filings and payments.
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess impact to the business.
  • Maintain tax documentation and support audits or inquiries from taxing authorities.
  • Partnership with FP&A & Business Support Work closely with FP&A on budget preparation, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial insights.
  • Provide reliable actuals, schedules, and analysis to support planning and decision‑making.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to explain financial results and identify risks or opportunities.
  • Controls, Systems & Process Improvement Design, maintain, and strengthen internal controls across accounting, AR, AP, and cash processes.
  • Act as system owner for accounting‑related tools and ERP functionality.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and scalability as the business grows.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across finance systems.
