About The Position

The Controller serves under the leadership of the Associate Vice President for Fiscal Affairs. The Controller is responsible for comprehensive accounting policies and procedures; and supervising, managing and developing assigned accounting department staff. He/she will review policies/procedures and ensure proper internal controls. He/she will interact with internal and external customers by researching, resolving and responding to inquiries, and disputes. Completes the month-end and fiscal-end closings and specific projects; prepare monthly financial statements and analysis; and assist in the annual audit and budget preparation. The Controller will perform other duties assigned by the supervisor within the scope of this position.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or at least five years of experience in Accounting (matriculating towards CPA) required.
• The successful candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices both hands on and in a supervisory capacity.
• Must be able to assemble, analyze and prepare reports and statements covering complex financial data
• Have considerable knowledge of Jenzabar EX and its applications, Microsoft Office, and other office equipment.
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must be able to provide direction and guidance to staff and customers, work with minimum supervision, give attention to detail, and cope with strict deadlines or time demands.
