About The Position

The Controller will oversee the financial operations of our custom millwork shop, ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective management of accounts payable/receivable. This role is responsible for creating and explaining financial statements and ensuring compliance with all applicable labor and accounting regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accounting or financial management role, preferably in a manufacturing or custom millwork environment.
Proven experience in managing accounts payable/receivable, procurement, and inventory receiving processes.
Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
Familiarity with GAAP and labor law compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Explain financial performance and variances to management.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant labor and accounting regulations.
Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Oversee billing, collections, and vendor payment processes.
Maintain accurate records and ensure timely processing of transactions.
Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite to maintain and report on financial data.
Develop and implement internal controls and processes to safeguard assets and improve operational efficiency.
Assist in the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting.
Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws and accounting standards.
Prepare documentation for audits and support audit activities as required.
