We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our Finance team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and providing strategic financial insights to support the company's growth objectives. This role requires a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting and Reporting: Oversee daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting activities.
  • Lead the month-end close and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Coordinate the reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts; prepare or review monthly account reconciliations with appropriate documentation.
  • Partner with the Director of Financial Reporting to ensure timely and accurate consolidated financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop proficiency in financial systems and drive process and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT to optimize the use of JD Edwards and related applications.
  • Lead the implementation of a new financial reporting and consolidation tool, integrated with JDE.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee the annual audit process and serve as the liaison with external auditors.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support FP&A in the annual budgeting process, including financial forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to monitor and report on key financial metrics, risks, and variances.
  • Cash Management: Work closely with Treasury to manage cash flow, including monitoring balances, collections, forecasting needs, and optimizing working capital.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and billing.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse accounting team, fostering a positive culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the tools, training, and support to achieve company goals.
  • Coordinate with the company’s international shared service centers.
  • Strategic Planning: Build strong partnerships with leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with long-term business objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and capital investment decisions.
  • Evaluate market trends, financial performance, and operational data to deliver meaningful insights.
