Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations. This role partners closely with the CFO to oversee day-to-day fiscal activities, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, maintain strong internal controls, and support strategic planning to ensure the organization’s financial strength and sustainability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field required. CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of professional accounting experience
- 3+ years of financial analysis, reporting, or project management experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, federal grant compliance, and healthcare finance
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in healthcare accounting preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP and organizational policies
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Manage audits and serve as liaison to external auditors
- Monitor internal controls and safeguard organizational assets
- Coordinate budgeting, procurement, and financial planning processes
- Analyze income and expense trends; recommend cost-saving and revenue-generating strategies
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing processes
- Supervise accounting staff and ensure accurate, timely completion of work
- Support the CFO with strategic initiatives, financial analysis, and process improvements
- Provide oversight for USAC program reporting and compliance
