About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Controller to support accounting operations and provide financial insight within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, cost accounting, internal controls, and compliance while partnering with operations and executive leadership to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a strong analytical leader who enjoys improving processes, enhancing cost visibility, and collaborating cross-functionally to support business growth. As Controller, you will help leadership understand financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the company maintains strong financial controls and compliance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, including cost accounting
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Valid California driver’s license and the ability to travel between company locations using a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee cost accounting processes including standard costing, cost roll-ups, variance analysis, and absorption reporting
  • Monitor production variances, labor efficiency, overhead allocation, scrap, and inventory valuation
  • Provide financial guidance to operations regarding margin improvement and cost control
  • Continuous audits of internal controls and business workflows
  • Help maintain and optimize Acumatica ERP/accounting systems
  • Participate in system upgrades, integrations, process automation, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Assist with annual/quarterly audits, renewals and filings with outside agencies
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations to support business objectives
  • Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations and supporting analysis
  • May provide support and training to the accounting department
