Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 6 years managing direct reports.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting (P&L, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flows).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex calculations, formulas, tables).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong leadership skills to mentor, motivate, train, and lead a team.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

Nice To Haves

• Grocery/retail industry experience strongly preferred, with a deep understanding of the natural and organic foods sector.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial and accounting operations with two direct reports, ensuring our resources are managed effectively to support our commitment to health, sustainability, and community.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and ensure compliance with financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales taxes, and property taxes.
• Deliver status updates on the company's financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting key financial data.
• Prepare short, intermediate, and long-term financial forecasts for internal management and external stakeholders.
• Review monthly results and provide actionable analysis to optimize operations.
• Oversee the management of all leases, contracts, and other financial commitments.
• Hire, train, develop, and appraise accounting staff effectively.
