About The Position

The Controller is primarily responsible for monthly reporting and managing cash position. Controller assists Chief Financial Officer with dealership accounting practices and policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred collegiate business or accounting degree.
• Preferred advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Must have at least 3-5 years of automotive dealership accounting experience.
• Must have at least one year of supervisory experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Processes and generates financial data for all dealership departments, which together represent the accurate financial condition of the business.
• Provides accurate reporting to Dealer/General Managers and CFO.
• Prepares a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer’s format and time frame.
• Controls all posted documents.
• Assist with reconciliations of assets/liabilities monthly.
• Approves adjustments to inventory and receivable accounts.
• Prints monthly journals, schedules and general ledger.
• Closes month by processing accounting month-end.
• Assists with completion of annual review/audit.
• Ensures compliance with all government regulations.
• Ensures the payoff of vehicle floor plan and works with bank representatives.
• Cross-trains a qualified substitute for position.
• Manage cash position.
• Continually strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealership.
