The Controller at McCormick Trucking is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring quality control of financial reporting for a portfolio of operating properties. This role involves managing financial processes, supporting budget reviews, and mentoring finance staff, all while upholding the company's commitment to exceptional service and integrity.

  • Delivering accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Supporting annual budget processing and review of financial results.
  • Identifying, understanding and resolving tax-related issues.
  • Owning and documenting policies and procedures related to business accounting.
  • Processing external audit reports.
  • Ensuring external reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assisting in the development of internal organization and consolidation.
  • Managing and supervising the internal activities of the finance department.
  • Mentoring staff to demonstrate proper practices and processes.
  • Minimum 5 years finance experience.
  • Minimum 1 year financial management experience.
  • Experience with transportation and/or property accounting is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Highly deadline-focused and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
