The Controller at Savant will play a crucial role in leading the corporate accounting team, overseeing essential functions such as accounting operations, payroll, incentive compensation, and compliance support. This position is integral to the organization's growth and excellence, ensuring accuracy and compliance while driving strategic impact in alignment with Savant's mission.

  • Manage the activities of the corporate accounting department, including accounting, payroll, and compliance support.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of the firm's books and records, including data entry into the general ledger and payroll operations.
  • Oversee billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations to ensure smooth financial transactions.
  • Manage payroll and incentive compensation systems and practices.
  • Act as the key contact with outside firms for annual audits, tax matters, and corporate insurance policies.
  • Work with IT and other partners to optimize technology tools for accounting processes.
  • Ensure all controls and reporting comply with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable laws.
  • Develop and maintain department policies and procedures to uphold accounting discipline.
  • Provide support and analysis during acquisition integration to transition financial processes to company standards.
  • Oversee cost allocation analysis for various locations and operational units.
  • Select, supervise, and develop a team of qualified individuals, aligning performance expectations with organizational goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance roles with increasing levels of responsibility, including supervisory positions.
  • CPA or Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven success in networking and building effective internal and external relationships.
  • Executive-level communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work with and through others.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with proficiency in various accounting and reporting software.
  • Experience in a fee-only, independent RIA firm.
  • Familiarity with compliance and accounting laws and regulations.
