Controller / Head of Finance (Growth-Focused)
About The Position
World Truck Towing & Recovery is a well-established, owner-led heavy-duty towing and recovery company with strong, consistent year-over-year organic growth. We are seeking a powerful, hands-on financial leader to own the accounting function and help guide the company through its next phase of expansion. Role Overview This role is ideal for a Controller, Senior Accountant, or Head of Finance who wants real authority, influence, and a clear path toward a CFO-level role as the company continues to scale. The position combines hands-on accounting leadership with forward-looking financial strategy. Why This Role Matters This is not a back-office bookkeeping role. This position is a key leadership seat within the company. You will play a direct role in improving margins, strengthening cash flow, and ensuring that growth is profitable and controlled. Compensation Compensation is competitive and based on experience. This role offers long-term growth potential and the opportunity to evolve into a CFO-level position.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant, or Head of Finance
- Strong QuickBooks expertise (certification required)
- Experience in service-based, fleet, construction, towing, or equipment-heavy businesses
- Strong business judgment with attention to detail
- Comfortable being hands-on while also thinking strategically
- Ability to work independently and partner directly with ownership
Responsibilities
- Full-cycle accounting and financial control
- QuickBooks management (certified expertise required)
- Cash flow management and forecasting
- Job costing, margin analysis, and profitability reporting
- Payroll oversight, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Budgeting, forecasting, and growth planning
- Financial reporting and analysis directly to ownership
- Coordination with external CPA, tax advisors, and banking partners
