As Workit Health’s Controller & Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for bringing hands-on technical accounting expertise to our nontraditional business model. Our ideal candidate is hands-on, thrives in a dynamic work environment, and has a strong background in accounting operations. This candidate will lead a team to oversee financial reporting, audits, reconciliations, consolidations and taxes. They will be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Active Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) license required
  • 8+ years of related accounting experience (ideally audit)
  • Experience owning an end-to-end audit process
  • Experience with general ledger systems (e.g. NetSuite)
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Proven record owning end-to-end accounting for multiple entities
  • Strong and verifiable experience in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of US GAAP
  • Excellent communication, organization, time management and prioritization skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, revenue recognition, general ledger and taxes.
  • Manage the close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and execute annual audits, working closely with external auditors
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports ensuring they comply with GAAP.
  • Lead and manage accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and providing coaching and career development opportunities.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and manage the company’s accounting system, NetSuite, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial data.
  • Support the company’s strategic initiatives by providing insightful, data-driven analysis and financial perspective.
  • Directly manage Senior Accountant; partner with Manager, Finance & Strategy; report to Sr. Vice President of Finance & Strategy
