About The Position

UW Medicine Harborview Medical Center - Maintenance has an outstanding opportunity to hire a Control Technician - Electronics Shop. WORK SCHEDULE: Mondays-Fridays, Days No Telework POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: The Control Technician will perform skilled work in the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical controls for fire alarm systems, fire safety equipment, and related equipment. Work requires special skills in nurse call systems and fire alarm systems. As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine. Requirements

  • Completion of a four-year approved institution course as a Control Technician Trainee; OR four years of applicable experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and pneumatic control systems.
  • Vocational or trade school training in control mechanisms may be substituted, year-for-year, for work experience up to a maximum of two years.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when restricted by licensing or certification requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Fire alarm NICET and FA-1 certified
  • Low voltage electrician (EL06)
  • Ability to read electrical schematics , diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot active and non-active low voltage electronic systems, cameras, access controls, fire alarm, panic, duress, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, fire safety equipment, and related controls.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration control systems.
  • Fabricate and install temperature and humidity controls; assist with system design.
  • Use specialized tools for repair and calibration.
  • Troubleshoot and repair central supervisory control components.
  • Manage inventory of control parts and components.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
